I Ordered this for my girlfriend who dropped out of high school. She was happy when i got her the book cause she thought it would be so difficult to study, but i was able to study with her and do the test questions with her. She was able to learn much easier with us both tackling the studies, she wasn't very great at math, but the book helped in the areas she hard hardest time with and stuff like english and science she was good at she breezed through those parts making it easier for us to focus on the parts she needed help in. They give you a test in the beginning of the book to see what areas you need to focus on the most. She eventually took the GED and passed 1st try and i believe it was because the book was very thorough and clear in the subjects and topics. Some multiple choice questions were confusing to me as well and im a college graduate but it was challenging enough to prepare her for the test because she did well on the test, she said the test was easier with this book.

This book is great!!! It is very easy to read and understand. This book gives you great details and tips on how to ace the GED. I ordered this book in January and just took my GED this last Saturday (March 16th). Today I found out my results and I passed the GED. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who doesn't have a lot of time to study. I was studying this book while I was taking college classes. If you do all the exercises in the book and complete the two full length practice tests you should be fine on the GED. I would recommend studying the math more thoroughly then the rest of the material, unless you are really good at math.
Well, where to begin. First of all the book itself is great and is a really good buy.
However if your buying it in the same regards as I, you might as well forget it, let me explain.
I bought this for my 33 year old stepson that never wanted to get work before, and still doesn't, then out of the blue he
finally wants to get off his ass and do something with his life.
I bet this book is doing nothing but collecting dust on the shelf, while he sits there playing video games and living off his
girlfriend, all the while getting money each month from his mother that does work.
I never heard once him taking any tests since he got this book, all I hear from him is excuses.
I purchased for a friend, to help them study for their GED exam. It was a great book, exactly as expected. It arrived brand new and undamaged with very speedy shipping. My only recommendation is pair it with a class, the book alone may not do it for the actually GED exam. Also, it is now 4 years old so you may want a newer version.
I bought this for my multi-felon nephew.

With two copies, Internet access and two web cams I essentially taught him what he needed to know from here he left off in high school to pass the G.E.D. It took seven weeks of continuous effort and dedication on both his and my part.

My nephew passed the G.E.D. with a B+ average, the highest test score he's ever received. He took a competency class for advanced welding and passed; he's now in welding school for complex jobs that lead to six figure payout.

I'd speculate that this story is no different from any other offering the same content. What sold me was the price and the ability to receive the item quickly.

What the book turned out to be was an excellent guidebook on the topics necessary to complete the intended task (Get G.E.D.) without complication. Easy for him to understand, easy for me to explain - easy to comprehend. It uhh even reminded me of some things.

In short for those looking at the book for yourself or a loved one JUST GET THE BOOK. It worked for my hard-luck knuckle-headed beloved super-felon nephew it will work for you.
I should start by saying that every person may have different results, I will talk about my own experience.
First of all, English is my second language (and not the best), I have a high school diploma from my country, dated 1991, I went to the university and I have something equivalent to a Bachelor Degree in Science from 1997.
I wanted to get a GED as a personal goal and to get an idea about the basic education system of the United States, now that I got it, I am thinking to get a college degree.
To get the GED you must have a basic (very basic) knowledge of mathematics, science, social studies, reading and writing, in my case, the most difficult was the writing, because of the essay, but it was difficult because of my limited English, the topics of social studies and science, in my opinion are general culture, for mathematics you need to practice, so you don't forget what you are learning with the book.
If you follow the instructions on this book, you will pass the 5 tests. This book will tech you how to pass the tests (how to crack it), it is not perfect, I found a couple of errors, but I won't complaint about it.
My scores reading = 800, science = 710, math = 660, social studies = 600 and writing = 550.
As I said before, results may vary, I used the kindle version, I have a full time job and a family, I was not able to dedicate a lot of time to this book, I will say about 3-4 hours per week, the week before the test I did like 10 hours. I bought this book on June 02, I took the test (computer test, no paper) on August 1 and 2, and I received my diploma today, August 15.
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to get the GED, please keep in mind that the GED test will change in 2014, so this book is good for the current version of the test.
